Community Build Project
Students and staff from North Nova and around CCRSB came together at Six-Mile Brook in Pictou County to build a cabin for the Cape to Cape Trail on September 29th and 30th. Click here and here to read about our students in the New Glasgow News and Chronicle Herald.
Student & Visitor Parking
There are several areas of the school yard which are designated as NO PARKING areas. Visitor parking is located along the front of the building. Staff parking is located in the front parking lot as well as a designated area located at the rear of the building. At no time should students be parking in staff and visitor parking areas, fire lanes or the bus loop.
Parents as Career Coaches
As a parent, you have invested many hours supporting your child’s education attending Parent-Teacher meetings, curriculum nights, along with other important events. There is a new opportunity in which your participation is just as important.
On October 7th & 8th from 6:30 - 9:00 pm at North Nova Education Centre, we will be hosting a program, free of charge, to help parents talk to their daughters and sons about career choices. Parents as Career Coaches is a program that is designed to help parents identify their child’s strengths and interests, which will help with course selection and also introduce meaningful career options.
Too many students graduate from high school without having a clear plan for the future. Parents as Career Coaches will equip you, the parent, with the information you need to start this important conversation at the high school level. You can register on-line please CLICK HERE . You can also register by contacting Debbie Lochead at 902-755-8180 ext. 192 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

CCRSB Attendance Policy CHANGE
We would like to notify parents/guardians of a change in CCRSB's Attendance Policy, which will affect students of North Nova Education Centre. CCRSB's current practice of removing a student from a course for poor attendance is no longer permitted. The NS Dept. of Education has a new Provincial School Code of Conduct that came into effect on September 1st, 2015 which does not permit the removal of a course or program as a consequence for non-attendance or poor attendance at school. This change in practice in no way means the importance of regular and punctual attendance is less than it was previously. Proper attendance is a key to success at school and we continue to expect students to be at school every day.
